ARCHITECURAL DESIGNER AT CORE 10

Architectural Designer CORE10 was formed to provide a place for talented design professionals to practice their craft on unique and challenging projects. Our Mission: Provide great design and have fun doing it.

We are currently seeking an Architectural Designer (some would call this role a “Drafter” or “Architectural Technician”) to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. As an Architectural Designer at CORE10 you would be primarily responsible for producing drawings that convey our design intent to all of the project stakeholders.

Production of complete and consistent construction documents is the heart of this role. Your visits to job sites to take measurements and photographs will often form the basis for your drawings. You’ll rely on your fellow Associates and Partners to give advice and support. Your primary direction will come from your Project Architect and Lead Architect on a given project.

Your measures for success and growth will generally be time, independence, and accuracy. So you’ll constantly evaluate your own work and the directions you’re given. By thinking critically about what you are drawing you can best spot conflicts and inconsistencies before they become costly problems. You’ll learn new things continually about building technologies, communications, and document preparation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. as directed by others utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).

  • Translate planning concepts into more detailed floor plans and technical design solutions.

  • Develop an understanding of clients’ program requirements, standards, and policies.

  • Build design information for client/project team review.

  • Perform product research and assist with specifications.

  • Review your own drawings to assure our document standards are met.

  • Assist team in document review and management during construction.

Required Skills

  • Desire to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to solve problems by asking questions and proactively developing solutions. Our team works best when everyone shares both their obstacles and their own proposed roadmap through them.

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling and Rendering tools such as Enscape, Rhino, and Lumion preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of architectural building systems.

  • Strong communication skills, both in-person and written.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and manage time spent on tasks.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architectural Technology (or equivalent) or Bachelors of Science in Architecture or Professional B Arch or M Arch is required.

  • CDT certification is preferred.

  • 1 to 3 years’ working experience in architectural drafting is preferred.

  • Must be currently eligible to work in the United States.
