Construction Project Manager in Advisory Role

(contract part-time position)


Duties:

  • Participate in oversight of commercial construction project that is now in the start-up phase

  • Review and offer input on the construction schedule prepared by the general contractor and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications

  • Coordinate and communicate with owner, general contractor, and subcontractors

  • Review and offer input on the overall Project budget and the construction budget and recommend adjustments

  • Review invoices, pay applications, and change orders and make recommendations for or against payments to architect and general contractor for expenses related to the Project

  • Conduct regular site visits to inspect work progress, address any issues or concerns and prepare a weekly inspection report

  • Attend weekly progress meeting with the Owner and participate in preparation of meeting minutes

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project success

  • Co-manage activities and assigned tasks of student intern who will assist with duties

  • Participate in project close-out activities and ensure that all close-out items have been received from architect and general contractor

Skills:

  • Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting commercial schematics, blueprints, construction documents and specifications

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Knowledge of 2018 IBC, IMC, IPC and IFC codes, regulations, and safety protocols

  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure

  • Familiarity with Procore Construction Management software or similar is a plus

This is a municipal, new construction project in St. Louis County. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will work 10 hours per week. Must have previous commercial project management and inspection experience. Will work remotely from your own home office when not on-site conducting inspections or attending meetings. A 10-month construction period has been identified with an anticipated construction start date in late July or early August 2023. Interviews to start Week of July 10th.
